We couldn’t drive past Salt Lake City without making a side trip to see the Great Salt Lake. The extra drive to Antelope Island was well worth it. The island itself, like the landscapes all the way through Utah, have a strange, monochromatic, barren beauty all their own. It’s impossible to capture the grandure as we drive along but I keep trying.
The visitor center sits on a high point of the island with spectacular views of the lake and the mountains beyond. An extended trip in the summer is called for.
